Department of Electronics & IT (DeitY) to connect with the industry at EFY Expo
The Department of Electronics & Information Technology has decided to use EFY Expo as a platform to engage with the stalwarts of the Indian electronics industry. DeitY will be meeting industry leaders to understand their doubts about recently announced policies, and provide necessary guidance. DeitY has also requested ELCINA (co-organisers of EFY Expo) to arrange for a special industry-to-government forum, which is expected to be held on the first day of EFY Expo i.e. 21st Feb 2013.
Get to see a LIVE SMT LINE for the first time in an Electronics Event in India
For the first time in the history of the Indian electronics industry, visitors can watch a live SMT line in action at an exhibition. This new concept will be introduced at the EFY Expo 2013. Essentially, the line will be a complete SMT production set-up, for a low to mid volume manufacturing unit, keeping the needs of the Indian SMEs in mind. Through this initiative, current and prospective electronics manufacturers can get a first-hand understanding of the latest manufacturing equipment being used globally.
MSMEs can get subsidy for exhibiting at EFY Expo, thanks to NSIC
Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, inter-alia, through National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), a Public Sector Enterprise of the Ministry, has been providing marketing support to Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs) under Marketing Assistance Scheme. Under the Scheme, it is proposed to provide marketing support to Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises through National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) and enhance competitiveness and marketability of their products. The Marketing Assistance which offers subsidy of upto 95% can now be availed by Micro & Small Enterprises to exhibit at Electronics For You Expo 2013.
RoHS Compliant Electronics Manufacturing to get a boost
The Indian government is now driving adoption of RoHS manufacturing for electronics products in India, and has announced deadlines for many product categories. To update senior decision makers about the challenges and opportunities associated with this transition, EFY Expo 2013 will organise a seminar on ‘Challenges of Supporting RoHS/Lead-free Assembly Processes and Possible Solutions’ The objective of this seminar is to help production managers and supply chain managers to effectively transit into complying with RoHS rules and regulations that require electronic manufacturing processes, equipment and material to be free of restricted substances, and for solders to be free of lead.

With active participation from DeitY, EFY Expo will provide lay emphasis in show-casing innovative works by Government departments and Public Sector Undertakings PSUs. The best 5 will be adjudged by ELCINA and DeitY and provided a free platform to showcase their innovations at the EFY Expo 2013.
